Leslie Philip “Les” Eberhardt Obituary

Les passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026 at the age of 86.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene (nee Berge); daughters, Terry and Lori (Todd Saskiw) and grandson, Milo Saskiw. Les is also survived by his brother Randy, sister-in-law Catriona and their children, Sarah, Daniel and Lucy, all of New Zealand.

Growing up, Les built close relationships and shared many fun times with cousins, relatives and friends that lasted throughout his life. Family was important to Les, and he spoke fondly of family motorhome trips across Canada and the United States. Highlights of his travels included visits to New Zealand to see his brother and his family. He took great pride in his daughters and his grandson.

Similar to his experience at AGT/Telus, where he formed many lasting friendships with countless memorable times, he did the same while volunteering at Camp Meywasin, Canadian Ski Patrol, JP Judokwai, and Northern Bluegrass Circle Music Society.

Les had many interests over the years, including music, motorbikes, electronics, woodworking, photography, calligraphy, programming, judo, biking, skiing and cop shows. Later, he especially enjoyed watching his grandson’s activities.

From his many interests, what stands out most is Les’ lifelong love of country and bluegrass music. As a guitar player, he enjoyed nothing more than playing with family and friends at gatherings, performances, festivals and jams. At the centre of his life was his 59-year marriage to Arlene, for which he was deeply grateful.

Les will be lovingly remembered as a husband, dad, father-in-law, grampa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, musician and friend.

At Les’ request, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place.
