Leslie Schumaker Obituary

Leslie George Schumaker passed away on August 18th, 2025, at the age of 92.

Leslie was born on October 9th, 1932, on a family farm near Didsbury, Alberta. He was raised on a farm with eleven of his siblings and shared his memories often for his love of nature, his special friendships and family connections.

His passion was for love of the land, but someone in a red coat caught his eye, and city life became a possibility. He married this fine lady, Dorothy Oullette, on June 29th, 1963, and settled into his love of sales. With this love of sales, he pursued many opportunities that enhanced his love of people and their love for him.

Leslie was a dreamer and a visionary which amplified his natural abilities of entrepreneurship. He loved playing the guitar, reading, and enjoying movies with Bruce Lee, John Wayne,  and James Bond. Leslie longed for farmhouse cooking and pies.

He was fond of the Creations story - Adam and Eve and Biblical history. Leslie expressed gratitude for his Catholic faith and love of the Rosary.

He was not a formally educated man but was a scholar of life. He was welcoming with philosophical conversations, and we will grieve for his inspiring ideas.

He is loved by many and will be missed by all.

Live the Life
Life is an opportunity, try to take it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a bliss, savor it.
Life is a dream, make it real.
Life is a challenge, try to confront it.
Life is a duty, do it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life if precious protect it.
Life is richness, make it a treasure of it.
Life is love, enjoy it.
Life is a mystery, try to reveal it.
Life is a promise, carry it out.
Life is sadness, try to get over it.
Life is hymn, sing it.
Life is a fight, accept it.
Life is an adventure, run the risk.
Life is felicity, try to deserve it.
Life is life, defend it.
