Konstadinos (Dino) 'Gus' Maroulis

Konstadinos Maroulis, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on November 12, 2023.

Konstadinos (Dino), also known as Gus, was a loving father, brother, and son. He was born to Maria Maroulis and Emmanoil Maroulis on April 13, 1963, in Larissa, Greece.

As a teenager, he relocated to Calgary and discovered his love for cooking while working for his uncle. He went on to open a successful restaurant of his own named Vlasis, followed by opening a takeout restaurant named Marissa’s. Over the course of owning these businesses, he made many great friends.

As well as cooking, he loved to travel, browse cookbooks, watch comedy movies, and prank anyone unfortunate enough to fall for his antics. He was an amazing father, who would do anything for his kids.

Konstadinos is survived by his mother, Maria Maroulis, his oldest daughter Maria Maroulis-Grant, his youngest daughter Elissa Maroulis-Grant and his sister Vasiliki Papadoupolous. He is predeceased by his father Emmanoil Maroulis.

His Funeral Service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tamarac Crescent SW, Calgary, AB) on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the church hall.
