Karen Janet Claus

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Karen Claus, 70, on June 11, 2025. Karen was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who brought warmth, love, and laughter to everyone around her.

Karen had a deep love for the games Cribbage and Euchre, pastimes she cherished throughout her life. She often brought people together for friendly games and enjoyed the camaraderie they fostered. Karen also had a passion for travel, creating lasting memories on trips to places like Vegas, Nashville, and cruises with her sister, Gail.

She also found great joy in the companionship of her dog, Gizmo, who was always by her side and provided her with comfort and love.

Karen’s family was everything to her. She is survived by her son, James and his wife Heather, and her grandchildren: Nathan, Chantal, Madison, and Alana, as well as her great-grandchild, Sophia. Karen also leaves behind her loving sisters, Gail, Sandy, and Lyn. She is also remembered fondly by her nieces, Margaret, Chelsea, Anick, Carolyn, and Susan, and her nephew, Stephane, and her faithful dog Gizmo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Diabetes Foundation, a cause that was close to Karen’s heart.

A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date to honor her memory and the many lives she touched.
