Karen Anne Bechtold

Karen Anne Bechtold passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020, at the age of 60 years.

Karen was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan but had the opportunity to live overseas during her childhood in such places as France and Germany. Karen spent most of her adult life living in Calgary, Alberta.  She was vivacious and outgoing with a passion for cultivating great relationships with family and friends. She treasured her time with her grandkids while also attending her weekly wing nights with friends. Karen had a passion for travel and fondly recalled her trips to Hawaii, Costa Rica and Mexico. Karen had an abundant love for animals and animal welfare. She treated her dog, Gizmo, like a second son and loved taking him for walks to Fish Creek Park.

Karen is survived by her mother Anne; her son, Tim (Sarah); her grandchildren, Brennan and Aubrey; her brothers, John (Val), Gary (Cheri), Jim, and Jerry (Roberta); nieces and nephews, Chad (Alyssa), Brittany, Zach (Jenni), Jesse, Ben (Melissa), Alex, Markson, Elisabeth, Breanna, and Braeleigh; great-nieces and great-nephews, Wyatt, Faith, Silas, and Jairah; along with countless members of her extended family. Karen was predeceased by her father, (John) Ozzy Bechtold.

A celebration of life will be held at Evan J Strong Funeral Services (5502 2 Street SW) on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11:00 am.
