Jorge Fernando Serpa

Jorge Fernando Serpa nee: Bravo, devoted father, friend & life long companion passed away at the age of 68 at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB at 2:09am. Born March 16, 1948 in Lima, Peru. He was the son of Leoncio & Emma Serpa. Brother of Victor, Roberto, Antonio, Miguel, Vilma, Gilda, Charo, Carmen, Janina and Gina.

As a father Jorge was very patient, strong, loving and full of quiet wisdom. He taught by example through the way he lived, loved and protected those he called family. Jorge carried himself well by his strength, humour and generosity. A living testimony to the man he was.

He left behind a legacy, a family who will forever miss him and who are grateful for the gift of his life. Though he has left this world, his spirit will be with those whose hearts he’s touched. We have missed his presence tremendously.

He started work early and at 10 years old and became a local shoe shiner. In high school Jorge left to join the Navy for 2 years. Where he dreamed of a future in Canada.

Jorge immigrated to Canada in the 80s where he worked in carpentry, construction and eventually started his own painting company.

Jorge leaves to mourn his companion Lorena McMaster and their son Fernando McMaster, his step-daughter Chasity(Craig). His grand-children Dante Louyine, Luvanna Racette, Silvia and Jorge McMaster. His many nieces and nephews. Brother & sister in laws along with many friends and adopted family members. Jorge was pre-deceased by his parents Leoncio & Emma Serpa and nephew Ricky Dennis Serpa.

He will forever be remembered in our hearts. 

Jorge’s ashes are laid to rest in Siksika Nation along the beautiful bow river.
