John Adrianus Petrus Timmermans

John Adrianus Petrus Timmermans, born February 19, 1934 in Oosterhout, Netherlands, passed away August 25, 2026 surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy rooted in love, family, and a life, truly well-lived.

John was a man who found great joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life. An avid gardener, he spent countless hours tending to his plants, cultivating beauty, and finding tranquility outdoors with his hands in the soil.

Above all else, John cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, Opa, Great-Opa and steady presence, whose greatest happiness came from gathering those he loved around him. Together with his beloved wife, Donna, John embraced adventures of exploring the world. Their travels created a lifetime of cherished memories, shared laughter, and unforgettable journeys side by side.

John’s warmth, patience, and deep love for his family will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the stories remembered, the paths travelled, and the gardens that bloom in his memory.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Brenda (Ken) of Lacombe, Laura of Bragg Creek, Karen (Sandy) of Chestermere, Leroy (Lisa) of Unity, SK. John is also survived by his grandchildren, Thomas (Janelle), Jordan (Megan), Shelby, Sydney (Cole), Colton (Jamie), Rhett, Joel (Kylie), and great grand-children  Lily, Tripp, Coy, Carter, Maya, Beau and his sibling, arriving this fall. 

John leaves behind his siblings, Bets, Nel and Cees (Ria), in-laws, Brian, Sien, Jo, Annie, Dora, Harold, Elsie and Mary, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife and sweetheart, Donna Mae, his siblings Toon, Wim, Piet, Ton, Jan, Jo, Riet, and in-laws Piet, Elvira (Bill), Melvin, Irene, and David.
