John William Guillemaud

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John William Guillemaud, of Calgary on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the age of 91 years.

John is survived by wife Nellie and children Cameron, Karen, Shawn, Colleen, Nicole, Michelle and Andrew, grandchildren, Christine, Anthony, Brodie and Hannah and great grandchildren Faith and Calista and numerous family and friends both in Calgary and Newfoundland. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Candace.

John was born on January 22, 1933. John and Nellie were married 53 years. Nellie welcomed John's four children as her own and they later added three more children to their family.  John drove for Calgary Transit from 1958 – 1989, 31 years. 

After retiring he then drove a school bus for special needs children for Cardinal Coach Lines. John enjoyed the kids he worked with and always went the extra mile to make their day extra special. John was a giving person, volunteering for the Developmental Disabilities Recourse Centre of Calgary (DDRC) and doing yard work for the Sisters of Charity Convent, St. John’s Church and his neighbors.

A Funeral Service will be held at Evan J Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 Street NE) on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing starting at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow the service.
