Jaylene Josephine Rachel Marlene Sanderson

Jaylene Josephine Rachel Marlene Sanderson, aged 15, passed away in Calgary, Alberta Sunday, September 3, 2023.

Born  on March 4,  2008 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jaylene will be remembered for her love of hockey and boxing, as well as her love for music and dance. Lovingly teasing her family with silly faces and jokes, voices, having dance parties with siblings, and expressing herself playing guitar and singing her favourite songs. She expressed her creativity through song, pursuing her passion to become a musician. 

Her determination was shown through her ability to get back up again while learning to skate and play hockey. Her strength and perseverance shown through practicing boxing.
 

Jaylene loved playing with her niece and being motherly to her, often playing dress up with Phoenix’s dresses. Jaylene will be remembered for her kind and forgiving nature, a smile that lit up a room, and her funny little laugh. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Jaylene is survived by her mother Jacqueline Sanderson and father Christopher Andrews; sisters Tiamo, Falyn and Payton Sanderson; brothers Sonny Sanderson and Theran Sanderson-Andrews; special brother Michael Keenatch; cherished niece Phoenix Sanderson; grandparents Martha Constant and Clifford Rabbitskin; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jaylene was predeceased by her brother Fenton Sanderson; grandmother Marlene Rabbitskin (nee Keenatch); and great-grandmother Caroline Sanderson.

Funeral Service will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 2 Street SW) on September 15, 2023 at 4:00 pm, with a Reception Feast to follow at Awo Taan Wellness Center (Unit 225, 525 28th Street SE) in Calgary, AB.
