Janet Helma O'Brien

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, Mom, and Grandma. Janet Helma O’Brien (nee Archibald) passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, with her family by her side.

Janet was born in Camrose, Alberta to Wallace and Ruth Archibald on October 19, 1934. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Frank O’Brien, her two children, Todd O’Brien (Cathy) and Lori Lynn Nicholl (Lowell). Her beloved grandchildren, Sean O’Brien, Darrin O’Brien and Taylor Oliverio (Joseph), and her step grandchildren and great grandchildren, Michael Nicholl (Alicia), Melissa Nicholl (Charles), Charlie, Harlow, and Berlin.

Janet is predeceased by her parents, Wallace and Ruth Archibald, and her brother Rand Archibald. She is survived by her sister Karen Barton. Janet leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly. She enjoyed a long and successful career as a Dental Assistant, working in the industry for over 40 years.

Janet lived a long life marked by kindness, strength, and deep devotion to her family. She was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and the quiet way she cared for those around her. Janet brought comfort, laughter, and wisdom to all who knew her. Together with her husband Frank, they built a home filled with love, care, tradition, and lasting memories.

She will be remembered for her compassion, her resilience, her guidance and the love she gave so freely. Janet was deeply loved and will be forever missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church (321 90th Avenue SE) followed by a reception in the church hall at 12:00 p.m.
