James Glackin

It is with great sadness that the family of James Glackin announce his passing in Calgary on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the age of 94 years.

James was born in Motherwell, Scotland on March 29, 1929, to William and Eizabeth Glackin.

James was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Irene, in 2021. James will be lovingly remembered by his children, Brian (Lillia), Monica (John), and Ian (Darlene); six grandchildren, Lammert (Melissa), James (Aleah), Michael (Stephanie), Jenna (Kyle), Rebecca (Kaylie), and Nicholas (Alexis); and twelve great-grandchildren, Anders, Ellis, Aden, Carson, Parker, Teylor, Emmett, Teddy, Wells, Owen, George, and Eddie.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Trico LivingWell for their care of James.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral (219 18 Ave SW, Calgary) on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. For those who are unable to attend the Mass, a recording of the service will be available below.
