Helen "Nellie" Guillemaud

January 27th, 1949 - Brookfield, Newfoundland 

July 26th, 2026 - Calgary, Alberta 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Nellie Guillemaud on July 26th, 2026 at the age of 77 years.

Nellie was born on January 27th, 1949

Nellie Guillemaud, of Calgary Alberta passed away unexpectedly at the age of 77 years. Nellie is survived by her children Nicole, Michelle, Andrew, Cameron, Karen, Shawn and Colleen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christine, Anthony, Brodie and Hannah and her great grandchildren Faith and Calista. Also, numerous family and friends both in Calgary and Newfoundland where she was born. Nellie was predeceased by her husband John and granddaughter Candace.

Nellie was married to John for 53 years and raised seven children together. While she was raising her children, she had a day home providing a fun and nurturing place. Later working in daycares cooking for a large amount of people, with so much ease and making friends wherever she was. After that she worked with the priests at St.John’s and the nuns at the Sisters of Charity Convent. Cooking, caring for them and being a shoulder to lean on. Her compassion and deep understanding of people meant that her home was always open to whoever needed a place to live. Nellie also volunteered for the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center of Calgary, giving her time, support and friendship to all. She was a very giving person with a heart of gold and made everyone feel special.

A Funeral Service will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 Street NE) on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 2:00pm with a reception to follow. A recording of the service is available below.
