Helen Grace Phillips

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce that Helen passed away at the age of 90 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  Helen was predeceased by her husband Donald Phillips; brother in law Stuart; and nephew Douglas. Helen is survived by her sisters Val (Ken) and Margaret; brother-in law Pat (Lorna); niece Anne (Paul); nephews Russell, Robert, Greg and Blain; and many great nieces and nephews.

Helen was born in Lethbridge and lived in Calgary for many years before moving to Los Angeles, where she had a great career with Paramount Pictures as “Director of Contracts” earning an Employee of The Year Award.  She was greatly loved and respected, both in business and in her personal life. Helen loved bowling, golfing, and making pottery in her spare time.  She also loved to travel and spend time with her beloved dogs.

After retiring Helen and Don moved to Las Vegas and lived there for many years before coming back to Calgary to be closer to family. Helen will always be remembered for her generosity, her kindness and her gracious gentle manner.  She will be forever missed by family and friends.

Many thanks to Dr. Lo and the staff of the Willow Park Unit of the Southwood Care Centre for the exceptional loving care that they gave to Helen over the last years of her life.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
