Helen Veronika Franssen

Mrs. Helen Veronika Franssen passed away at Cedarville Extended Care on Wednesday September 25, 2019 at the age of 89 years.

Helen is survived by her son Don Franssen; her daughter Diana (Don) Kautzman; four granddaughters, Krystal and Sarah Stelter, and Amanda and Stephanie Kautzman; and two great grandchildren, Benjamin Stirrett and Connor MacGillivray. She was predeceased by her husband, Tony Franssen, her daughter Patsy Stelter, her brother Henry Izyk, and her parents Jabwigga and Walter Izyk.

Helen was born and raised in Blackie and spent the rest of her life in Calgary. She practiced as a nurse for the Holy Cross Hospital. Helen was an intelligent, warm and loving woman with a keen sense of humour who enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. In her later years, she took great delights in reading and making crafts.

A celebration of Helen's life will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502-2nd Street SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 1:00pm.
