Helen (Orlowski) Bryk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Bryk (née Orlowski), who passed away peacefully on the morning of September 17th 2025 at the age of 87, in Calgary, Alberta.

Helen was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had a passion for baking and, alongside her sister, proudly owned and operated a bakery for many years – a place that brought joy and warmth to many in her community.

Outside the kitchen, she found joy in her faith, attending church every Sunday and filling the pews with her beautiful singing voice. She also cherished simple pleasures like playing crib, tending to her garden and taking road trips to Fairmont Hot springs in the summer with her grandchildren. Above all, Helen was an exceptional woman whose kind heart, generous spirit and strength touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry, her son, Nick, her parents, and siblings, Maria, Hans, Joe and Adolf.

She is survived by her sister, Liz (Vince), her daughter, Joanne (Trent), her grandchildren, Tyler, Cassandra (Arthur), Brandon and Kyle, as well as her great-grandchildren, Porscha, Catalina and soon-to-be-born, Madilyn. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 St NE) on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11:00 am.
