Graeme Lee McColm

Graeme McColm passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the age of 41 years. 

Graeme was born in Kamloops, started his life living in Savona, BC, a great place to grow up on Kamloops Lake where it flows out to the Thompson River. It was like Graeme was the town’s grandson when he was little, he was always getting around. He was lucky to be close to grandpa and grandma, Bert and Esther, and their wonderful love and influence, as well as other family including Father Scott Hannah. With his mom Kathy, Graeme moved to Calgary at a young age, where they met dad Alec. Both Graeme and Kathy welcomed Alec into their lives. Then Mitch and Sarah came into the family. They all grew up in Pineridge together.

Graeme was a natural athlete. He enjoyed, and did well at several sports including baseball, basketball, hockey and golf. In hockey, he was a high penalty minutes guy. His brother Mitch, looking up to Graeme, took on some of those qualities. His sister Sarah also probably picked up some of those playmaking, good teammate, hardnosed attributes, in her soccer and rugby too. One of Graeme’s favorite things was golf, anywhere, anytime. A couple of his favourite places were Beaver Dam out by Madden, and Tobiano near Savona.

Graeme was a big sweetheart, kind, loyal, dependable, and loving. You could count on him to be there for you, whatever you needed. He had many dear friends that he would share good times with, dinners, and nights out. Graeme dearly loved his pups, Brutus, and Artan. He was a good pup parent. Graeme was a good man, a good friend, a good son, brother, and uncle. Graeme’s nieces would all light up when they heard Graeme was coming over. They loved to be in his arms. We all did. He was a great hugger.

Graeme will be greatly missed and always remembered, with love.

A Funeral Service will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 Street NE) on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 1:00 pm.  Reception to follow.
