Giuseppina Gentile

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppina Gentile (nee Razzini) on the 22nd of January 2025 at the age of 92.

A mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to so many, Giuseppina was born Oct 28, 1932, in San Giovanni D’Abi, Catanzaro Italy. At the age of 25 she married Giuseppe Gentile. They welcomed their first daughter a year later, who, unfortunately, passed away within the year. They immigrated to Calgary in 1958, and like so many immigrants from her homeland, settled in Bridgeland. There, they started building a wonderful and loving life, surrounded by many family members and close friends. They welcomed their son, Sebastian (Deborah), and their second daughter, Maria. Later in life, she was blessed with the birth of her granddaughters, Venessa and Samantha Gentile, who she adored.

Her passion in life was her family, especially her granddaughters.  She expressed her love with lots of hugs, kisses, and her incredible cooking.
 

She will truly be missed by all who were blessed to have her in their lives.

Giuseppina is survived by her loving son, Sebastian (Deborah), her granddaughter, Samantha, her sister-in-law, Rosina Gentile, and by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Giuseppe Gentile, two daughters (Maria), her sister Rosa Capodanno, her brother, Sebastiano Razzini, her granddaughter, Venessa Gentile.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North (3625 – 12th Street NE, Calgary, AB T2E 6P4) on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Followed by a Funeral Services at 11:00 am. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery, Mausoleum.
