Gilda Loretta Keller

It is with sadness that we announce that Gilda Loretta Keller passed away on June 6th, 2025 at the age of 81 in Calgary Alberta.

Gilda was born on February 5th, 1944 in the town of Kerrobert,  Saskatchewan  to her parents, Bertha and Peter Burgardt. Gilda married her husband Don Keller on October 19th 1968, they had two children together, Troy and Pamela. After they were married Don and Gilda moved to Calgary in 1969 where they made a home in the area of Cambrian Heights where they lived until Gilda’s passing. “Mother” was just one of the job titles that she held, she worked as both a telephone operator and a switchboard operator, later in life Gilda would also help Don with his own business as the bookkeeper for Keller industries. Gilda loved to travel and was able to visit many countries. Gilda's home was always welcoming and full of love, you could always count on Gilda & Don to host lovely gatherings for many guests around the holidays and for any event that required a suitable party, parties that emphasized her love of music and dancing.

Gilda is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Peter Burgardt. As well as, her siblings Joseph Burgardt, Gordon Burgardt, and Shirley Klein.

Gilda will be sorely missed by her husband of 56 years, Don Keller. As well as her two children Troy Keller and Pam Clarke (Darren), her two grandchildren Kaid and Danica Healy, and her step-grandchildren Tyler and Ethan Clarke. The loss of Gilda is also felt by her brothers Donald (Helen) and Rhinehart (Marian) Burgardt; Kathy Burgardt and Leo Klein, and many more cherished loved ones. Gilda was a very special woman who was loved by all who were lucky enough to know her kindness, welcomed sassiness, and her amazing sense of humour.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church (835 Northmount Drive NW) on Thursday June 12, 2025 at 11:00am, with a Viewing at 10:00am.

A reception following the Funeral Mass at 12:30pm will be at The Royal Canadian Legion Chapelhow Branch 284 - 606 38 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8J9
