Geraldine 'Gerry' Ann Hamilton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geraldine Ann Hamilton, aged 91 years, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Chinook Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta.

Gerry grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta and moved to Greenwood, Nova Scotia after marrying. She lived in many cities across Canada including Victoria, Ottawa, and Toronto before finally settling in Calgary. Her travels introduced her to the many friends she kept over the years.

Gerry was both a certified swimming and skating teacher when she was still in her teens. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years and still found time to be an incredible cook, knitter, seamstress, and in her later years, an accomplished artist.

Gerry became a business owner, eventually running a highly successful catering company. She was a woman of incredible talent and seemed to excel at anything she set her mind to.

Gerry is survived by her children, Ken (Corinne), Leslie, and Sharon (Kelvin), along with grandchildren Casey (Kyle), Joshua (Brittany), Lisa (Paul), Jordan (Lisa), Aynsley, and Fiona (Vanessa), and great grandchildren Oliver and Florence.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Mellor, and brothers Ronald, Kenneth, and Stanley.

The family would like to thank Chinook Care for their wonderful and gentle care of Gerry over the last few years of her life.

At Gerry’s request, there will be no funeral.
