George Henery Dale Hodge Obituary

George Hodge, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born in Hainsville, Ontario, raised in Prescott, Ontario, and a resident of Calgary, Alberta for 50 years, George dedicated his life to his family, his career in Canada and globally in the Oil and Gas industry, and to various community/hockey associations.

Son to (George) Lyle Hodge and Mabel Hodge (nee James).  Brother to Betty Ann Vandersluis (Ron), Graham, Garry (Willy), Donald (Shirley), Geoff (Liz), Cheryl Tennant (Jim), and Mark (Christine).

Survived by his beloved wife B. Diana Hodge (nee Fortier), his 3 sons, Brad (Marnie), Jason, and Adam (Clarissa), his 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Anna, Jillian, and Jaxson, along with numerous nieces, nephews.

George loved to hunt and fish, he loved football, hockey, and golf.  He beamed with positivity with every interaction, often giving in to the most cliché Dad jokes, and got along well with just about everybody he crossed paths with.

George lived his life humbly, and wished only to be cremated, with no Funeral Service, or Celebration of Life ceremonies, and his cremated remains spread among some of his most heartfelt places that left an impact on his life.

Any expressions of sympathy, in lieu of Flowers or Cards, may be directed towards the Alberta Cancer Foundation https://albertacancer.ca or to the Canadian Cancer Society https://cancer.ca in the form of Donations.

The Family expresses their most heartfelt gratitude towards the ER staff at the Foothills Hospital (Calgary), and to the entire Oncological and Palliative Care teams at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
