It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Goldade (Dirk), lovingly known as Florence (Flo). Born on August 28, 1939, in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, Florence was the eldest of six siblings. Upon her mother passing away at a young age, Florence stepped into the role of caretaker, balancing the responsibilities of raising her own young family while caring for her brother.
In 1957, Florence married Simon Goldade, and together they welcomed three children, Ronalda (Howie) Scott, Bravin, and Rochelle. Florence was predeceased by her beloved daughter Rochelle in 2014. A devoted mother, Granny cherished her five grandchildren, Landon, Tyrell, Seirin, Jared, and Kalida, and took immense pride in her nine great-grandchildren.
After relocating from the farm to Calgary, Florence managed the family business. Their move to Mayland Heights allowed them to become part of a community that brought Florence much joy. She thrived in the neighborhood, became a masters bridge player. Florence was known for her hospitality, hosting countless gatherings with friends and family.
In her later years, Florence’s career led her from jewelry sales to a final professional chapter as a realtor, where her dedication and genuine care for her clients gave her joy.
Florence’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and community spirit. She will be deeply missed by her siblings, friends, and family.
