Evelyn Frances (Peterson) Meadows

Evelyn Frances Meadows (Peterson) passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of immense love, creativity, and open doors.

Born in Kelvington, SK, on November 30, 1946, Evelyn was a woman who, above all else, loved big. On November 9, 1968, she married Burt in her parents’ living room—a space filled with love that came full circle, eventually becoming her and Burt’s cherished home for the last 28 years.

Evelyn possessed a creative talent beyond measure. Whether she was crafting stunning flower arrangements or sewing up a storm, she poured her heart and imagination into everything she touched. But her greatest masterpiece was the warmth she extended to others. She loved her family and her friends fiercely, and true to her generous spirit, there was always room at her table for one more.

Evelyn leaves behind her beloved husband, Burt, her cherished children, Cara and Christopher, who will all carry her bright memory forward. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Maureen Peterson, her nephew Geoff (Kale and Preston), her niece Melissa (Paul and Claire), and many cousins and extended family, all of whom held a very special place in her heart. She was reunited in peace with her baby brother, Douglas Peterson, with whom she shared an incredibly deep and special bond during his life.

A Celebration of Evelyn's Life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 St NE, Calgary, AB).
