Eric Robert Homersham

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our son, Eric.

He was a beautiful, funny, adventurous, and caring boy. A natural athlete, Eric played several sports but his focus was hockey and golf. He scored a beautiful goal in his second last game, and broke 80 for the first time, then several times this past summer.

As much as he loved sports, he loved his family and friends more. Eric had many friends, young and old alike. With his brother Joel and sister Emily, they shared an unbreakable bond. He filled our hearts with pride and happiness. Eric, you were so loved. Losing you devastates us with grief.

Eric’s Memorial Service is at Southview Alliance Church (20200 Walden Blvd SE) on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm, with live-streaming* of the service available for those who are unable to attend.  A recording of the service can be found below. A Viewing will be held prior to the Memorial Service at the church at 1:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an athletic award being established in Eric’s honour at his school, West Island College, The Eric Homersham Athletic Award.

Dear Eric,

It has been a year since you left us. At times we catch ourselves still, thinking you’ll be coming through our front door any moment now. A whirl of beautiful joyous energy. Such presence. Our grief plays tricks on us, but sometimes those tricks are comforting. Please come home, Eric. How we wish our pleas could bring you back. We hope you can hear us. We hope you’re happy and well taken care of. Let us know however you can, across the infinite divide.
