Edward Duke

One full year. Dad, it has been a full year since we lost you. We feel the void and miss you in so many ways. We miss your example in how to treat others. You were never unimpressed with anyone and always saw the value in every person. Your sense of fun was contagious. We always looked forward to the quizzes you created for every family get-together and hearing another joke from the world’s greatest joke-teller.

We can still see the gleam in your eye as you shared your always-delicious harvest from your garden. We have always admired that you never needed to be surrounded by fancy things; that having your family around, a good dog or cat by your side, and a crib board nearby made you happy. You sincerely appreciated the little things in life.

You were such a loving and dedicated husband and father. We feel very blessed to call you Dad. Thank you for all you have done and the person that you were. We were in awe of your strong faith. As you were dying, you often mentioned that you would be “together forever, with Mom and God” …and we believe that you are, and that gives us peace. We know your incredible singing voice will continue to resound in your Heavenly home.

We will see you again Dad.
