The family of E. James Uniacke sadly announce he passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the age of 82, following a 6-year journey with ALS.
Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years Maureen and 4 children, Michelle (Ron), Jill (Ozzie), Christopher and Sean (Lorna). He dearly loved his grandchildren, Nicole (Matthew), Ryan (Katelyn), Mitchell and Lauren, and two adored great-grandchildren, Ivy and Francis.
Jim is sadly mourned by his siblings, Donna, Margie (Ted), Tim and Richard (Pat), Patricia and Kathy, he was predeceased by his sister Irene. He will be fondly remembered by his in-laws Judith, Brian (Tracy), Catherine and Patricia (Paul) and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and was raised in a loving family in Calgary, Alberta. Jim graduated from St. Mary’s Boys High School and the Saskatchewan Law School. He was a member of the Bar Associations of Alberta and British Columbia. He practiced Law in Calgary for 3O years. His true passion was oil painting, and he was a very proud member of The Group and The Sketch Club.
Through his art, Jim left behind a part of himself that will never fade away. His strength, his humor, his love and his creativity. Even as his Illness quieted his voice and slowed his body his love and humor shone through.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 14 St. SW) on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., a private family interment will take place at a later date. In Lieu of Flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the ALS society at http://www.alsab.ca.
