Dusty Johnson

Dusty passed away peacefully at the age of 46 after a long and courageous battle with Huntington's disease (HD) on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Dusty will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Tara Johnson-Ouellette (Gary), children Destiny, Jada, Mia, and Keaghan, and nephew Carter. Dusty is predeceased by his parents Donald and Janice Johnson (Daily) and grandparents Leola and Rex Daily. Dusty was born in Calgary. As a young child, he enjoyed fun-filled days with his cousins biking in the local neighborhood. Growing up he enjoyed playing drums, snowboarding, playing pool, and hanging out at the local pubs. Dusty was a free spirit and a strong-willed individual. His strength was visible to the end. He chose an independent lifestyle and lived each day in the moment. We know that we will meet again someday, but in the meantime, our hope is that Dusty is enjoying a beer, steak, and dancing to his favorite tunes alongside our family members in Heaven where he is now free from HD.

The family would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank the nursing staff, physicians, and protection services team of Unit 22, Foothills Hospital. Your exceptional care and patience will never be forgotten.

Those wishing to pay their respects to Dusty or his family may do so at a visitation held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 2 Street SW, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
