Douglas Wayne Richards

Douglas Wayne Richards of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 21, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.

Doug was born to Emily and Henry Richards on July 13, 1941. Doug was one of the middle children of seven brothers and sisters. Doug grew up in Moose Jaw, SK. Doug is predeceased by his parents Emily and Henry Richards, his wife Dorothy Christine Richards, and his brother Lyle Richards.

Doug is survived by his two sons David and Dean Richards, and their spouses Karryn and Pip; as well as his two grandchildren Brandon Richards and Alandra Fyten and their spouses Jenn and Tyler. Doug was blessed with one great-grandchild Wyatt Fyten, and soon to be three more great grandchildren.  Doug (Papa) is also survived by his partner Heather Bell and her family, son Jason Boutron and grandchildren Adrianna, Sabrina, and Rylan, and daughter Kristen Houser and spouse Doug, and grandchildren Hayley and Ryan.

Doug's gentle and loving nature allowed him to be continuously immersed in his family's lives, attending and supporting ALL of their activities and other engagements.

A Memorial Service will be held at Southview Alliance Church (20200 Walden Blvd SE) on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1:30 p.m.
