Domingo Flores Lumanog of Calgary, Alberta, passed away at the age of 75 on Sunday, May 7, 2023, as a result of heart failure. He was admitted to Rockyview General Hospital on the evening of Friday, May 5, 2023, due to ongoing health issues, and while in the hospital, his condition worsened until his passing.
Domingo, fondly known as Doming or Toto, was born as the eldest son to Jesus Lumanog and Mercedes Flores Lumanog, on October 8, 1947, in Calatrava, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Most of his young life was enjoyed in Cebu City, Philippines, where he met the love of his life, Teresita Lumanog, with whom he is now lovingly reunited. Domingo was a patriot and served in the Philippine Constabulary (PC) and retired as a Sergeant General. He enjoyed spending his free time reading Tom Clancy’s types of books, keeping abreast with world news, engaging in intellectual discussions, and sharing positive energy among friends. He was always willing to extend a hand and help in any way he could for the benefit of the community. Domingo positively impacted every community he was involved in, and he will be truly missed.
Domingo is survived by his four children, Rina, Andrea, Joy, and Domingo Don; along with his four grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Sean, and Shayna; in addition to all their loving partners and relatives.
Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 24 St, SW, Calgary) on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
