Domenico (Dom) Buonincontri

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Domenico (Dom) Buonincontri, who left this world far too soon on January 3, 2026. Dom has found eternal peace, reunited with his parents Raffaele and Giuseppina Buonincontri. He leaves behind his beloved family: his partner Sonia Iervella; their daughters, Josie Buonincontri and Ava Rose Buonincontri; and their treasured grandchildren, Nevaeh and Nova, who filled his life with great happiness. He is also survived by his sister Filomena Sodano (Vince), his in-laws Anna and Gabriel Iervella, as well as an extended family of siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews who consistently brought joy to his heart. Dom deeply loved his family and his recently deceased dog, Gioia.

Dom was instrumental in building his successful property business with steadfast dedication. Dom always brought light into every room he entered with his sense of humor and gift for conversation. He was always honest and wholehearted.

Dom had deep compassion for people—family, friends, and even strangers—and a special love for dogs. He ran a highly successful business and had a true passion for building multifamily homes. Dom loved going to the gym and socializing with the community there. A devoted sports fan, he found great joy in cheering for his beloved Montreal Canadiens and San Francisco 49ers—teams that brought him excitement, pride, and countless shared memories with those he loved. He also had a profound appreciation for good food and beautifully crafted spaces, finding comfort and inspiration in the details that made life rich and meaningful. Above all,  Dom held a strong faith in God, which guided his life, for him and his family.

Dom’s legacy is one of faith, love, generosity, success, and quiet strength. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace. Viewing and visitation will take place on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 6:00 pm at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (North Location). Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 640 19 Avenue NW, Calgary, AB T2M 0Y8.
