Dixie B. Keys

The family of Dixie announce her peaceful passing on February 7, 2026.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Colleen of Chapeau, QC; Bob (Eunice) of Calgary and Kathy (Tom) Hampton of Calgary; as well as nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Also, her brother Jim (Del) and two sisters, Deanna and Carol (Bill) of the Edmonton region.

Dixie was predeceased by her daughter Loraine (Bob) (2024), husband Chester (2020), brothers Zane (2015) and Cal (2016) and sister Ruby (2023).

Dixie enjoyed bingo at the legion, ceramics and acrylic painting. She was an excellent home maker and mom. Both COPD and Alzheimer’s dementia came on about 2019 and with the loss of Chester she buried herself in reading novels and Word find puzzles.

The family wish to thank the South Calgary Campus Emergency Room staff under the direction of Dr. Heath; and the Rapid Access Unit staff there for their outstanding care of Dixie. As well, the wonderful staff at InterCare Southwood Hospice for their compassion and care for mom and us kids. In memory of a beautiful person, and in lieu of flowers, the family suggest making a charitable donation meaningful to that friend or family member.
