Dennis Castellino Obituary

Dennis Castellino beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on September 11, 2022, at the age of 85 years.

Dennis was born in Karachi, Pakistan to Emmanuel and Regina Castellino and was the third youngest of eight siblings.

In 1962 Dennis married Peggy D’Cruz, his partner in life for the next 60 years. They were a couple committed to each other, their two children, Michele and Douglas, and their family.

Dennis worked for Pakistan Shell Oil in their off-shore drilling operations and rose to a very senior level.

In 1970, Dennis and Peggy made the very tough decision to leave family, friends, and a good job to immigrate to Canada.

Dennis gained employment with PanCanadian Petroleum located in Calgary. Dennis’s hard work and innovative leadership allowed him to achieve success within the company.

He took the opportunity to retire early at 55 years and devoted his post-retirement time to many volunteering activities.

He joined the Knights of Columbus and was a dedicated and passionate member. He strived to do his best and was elected State Deputy and later Vice Supreme Master of the Fourth Degree.

He also served as State Historian for the Knights.

Dennis was a pioneer in starting up St. Mary’s University and also served on the Board of Camp Cadacasu. He helped set up Lincom, a group dedicated to bringing immigrants from Pakistan to Canada.

Dennis loved and cherished his time spent with his three grandchildren. He was always there for them, mentoring them, and was very proud of their achievements.

Dennis is lovingly remembered by his children Michele Holloway (Paul) and Douglas Castellino; his grandchildren Jordan (Mallory), Jessica (Kurtis), and Matthew (Lauren). He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family and many friends.
