Dellafern (Della) E. Marcia

Della passed away peacefully at her home in Calgary in April of 2020 after a lengthy and brave battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  

Della was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to her parents, Fred & Florence McElree in December of 1952.

She attended the University of Regina. Her passion for design showed in The Heritage Business center that she operated for many years, in her home in Regina and new home in Calgary that she designed. She also received her real estate license in the city of Calgary, Alberta.

Della was predeceased by her parents, Fred & Florence; brothers, Fred, Orville, Jack & Orin; sisters, Nan & Darl; and granddaughter, Kingsley.

Della will be lovingly remembered by her partner, Frank Lechner; sons Chris (Kaili) & Landon (Alex); stepsons, Brent (Debbie) & Reid (Alicia); grandchildren, Logan, Gray, Callium, Levis, Nikolas & Kaden; and brother, Kelly (Brenda).

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Della’s long-term caregiver Eva Fernandez for such great dedication and care for Della over the last 10 years. We would also like to thank Della’s past caregiver and friend, Arvinder Hanspal for being there when Della needed her most.

To Dr. Vicki Penny for your support and care of our Della. You went far beyond what anyone would expect, providing such excellent medical care for Della in our home.

During these unprecedented times, it was decided a celebration of Della’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the MS Society to Canada.
