Dawn Louise Kostyshyn

With very sad hearts we announce the passing of Dawn Louise Kostyshyn. Survived by her husband Paul Cormier; mother, Mercie Kostyshyn; sisters Karen Greggain (Jeff); Brenda McGimpsey (Ron); nephews, Zach and Rob and predeceased by her father Morris Kostyshyn.

Dawn grew up on a farm with her 2 older sisters in Garland Manitoba. She was very much Daddy's Little Helper  somewhat of a tom boy as you would say. Later moving to Dauphin Manitoba, where she trained and worked after school as a dental assistant. She also learned and danced with the Zirka Ukrainian Dancers.

She moved to Calgary in her early twenties and worked as a dental assistant until she went back to school for accounting. Dawn then worked as an accountant/controller for a number of businesses over the years.

Dawn met Paul in spring of 2003 and married in February 2006. She loved to participate in various recreational sports, softball, golf, squash, skating, and added the last few years, kayaking and disc golf to the activities with Paul. Dawn also loved taking Sunday motorcycle rides, looking for new and exciting places to discover and fill the gaps with long weekend camping and summer/winter travel vacations.

Dawn loved to bake and particularly, share her amazing chocolate rum balls with others for the holidays. She loved taking walks in the neighbourhood and various city parks and pathways with her hubby, 2 peas in a pod as you would say.

Dawn will be lovingly missed by her family and friends. Please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Funeral services to be held in Winnipeg Manitoba at a future date.
