David (Dave) Thompson

David (Dave) Thompson, beloved husband of Joanne Thompson, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 87 years.

Dave is survived by Joanne, his loving wife of 64 years; his son Robert (Angela) and granddaughter Ceili of Calgary; daughter Lisa (Michael) Danielewicz and grandchildren Aidan and Sydney of Calgary. He is also survived by brother in-law John (Carmelle) Zenko of Brockville, Ontario; his sister-in-law Marilyn Walton of Calgary; and sister-in-law Wati Thompson of Bakersfield, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Grace and Harry Thompson, infant sons John and Mark, brother Richard, sister-in-law Shirley and her husband Derek Lunn, nephew Michael Thompson and niece Deborah Thompson Goffic.

Dave worked 28 enjoyable years with Amoco Canada Petroleum (BP Petroleum) and took early retirement in 1994 followed by 25 years of volunteering in Calgary.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (1566 Northmount Dr NW, Calgary, AB T2L 0G6) on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made In Dave's name to the Calgary Food Bank or Meals on Wheels in Calgary.
