Dave Giesbrecht passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Born just outside of Aberdeen Saskatchewan, he is survived by his wife Helen; sons Richard, Robert (Shelagh), Roger (Alice); and grandchildren, Jamie, Rick, Daniel, and Amy.
Dave loved gardening and built a greenhouse that was the envy of the neighborhood. He had the best tomatoes, and his family loved his gifts of garden vegetables and bags of tomatoes.
Dave was a sheet metal mechanic and metal fabricator by trade and a skilled craftsman. He loved spending time with family and friends over garage beers and tinkering in the garage. He created beautiful woodcrafts and had a knack for fixing almost anything.
One of the places he loved the most was being out on the water fishing, and he went on many fishing trips to Dore Lake, Saskatchewan.
Dave was a quiet, salt of the earth man who would do anything for a friend. We are all better for having had him in our lives.
Donations in Dave’s name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
At Dave’s request, there will be no funeral.
