Darwin Baradia Leyva

We are sad to announce the passing of Darwin Leyva on February 22, 2021 at the age of 49 years. He was born in the Philippines on February 20, 1972. He immigrated to Canada in 2008. Darwin worked as a Chef at Overeasy Breakfast Co. where it brought him great joy and happiness.

Darwin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. He had a huge impact on many lives. Darwin will forever be fondly remembered for his beautiful smile, twinkle in his eyes, a kind heart, witty sense of humour, and a willingness to offer a kind word to those that were in his life.

He spent his last year and a half at home with his family while he was suffering with cancer. Ever since he was young, Darwin was always a ball of energy and loved to do so many things. He loved saying “Kayang kaya, ako pa! (I can do it)”. This was especially true during his journey. With determination and a fighting spirit, Darwin surprised us with his bravery. 

Darwin will be deeply missed and will always be in our hearts.
