It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Cynthia Ann Bertolin, at the age of 55, on Friday July 27, 2018 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB. Surrounded by her family, she died from injuries sustained after a fall. She was born December 13, 1962, in Fort Williams (Thunder Bay), Ontario to Larry and Annamae Desmeules. Cynthia graduated from the University of Alberta Law School in 1989. She married Gianfranco Bertolin on July 4, 1986, in Edmonton. She worked as a lawyer, CEO and business consultant throughout her career. Most recently she worked for her own company, "Sunrope", advising Metis and First Nations groups around the province. She will be fondly remembered by her mother, Annamae Desmeules; husband, Gianfranco Bertolin; two children, Bianca and Harlan; siblings, Larry (Debra) Desmeules, Charles Desmeules, Gayle (Wayne Tymofichuk) Desmeules; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Family, friends, and others whose lives Cynthia touched are invited to the FOSTER & MCGARVEY FUNERAL HOME, 10011 - 114 Street NW at 2 p.m. with light snack, coffee and tea, no interment, on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
