It is with a tremendously heavy heart I write that Colleen Margaret Oake (Coco) passed away on March 16, 2022, at the young age of 54.
Colleen will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful smile and sincere compassion for others. She found peace with her fur babies over the years especially her boy Luke, while listening to the running water laying in a field of dandelions and pretending they were daisies.
Colleen loved all our family dinners followed by playing our famous game of 21. She enjoyed cooking and baking in her later years, especially her thumbprint cookies.
She played community baseball at age six, then in her later years played with the Creatures for 15 years; she so loved the game.
Colleen had numerous years of experience in the administrative, transportation, and construction industries, with experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Acc Pac, and PowerPoint; she was a team player.
Colleen will be dearly missed by her mom Margaret A Oake (Mama); Newfie Jason (Sasha); great Newfie Owen Frederick; great-niece Scarlett Dawn; her fairy godmother Aunt Marie; her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends from Calgary, Newfoundland, Ontario and British Columbia.
Colleen is predeceased by her dad Frederick David Oake; brother David John Oake (Ronda Ann) and her aunt Ida Seymour.
Special thank you to the DOAP team, Renfrew, Alpha House, Oxford House, Aventa Centre, and the Women’s YMCA Transitional Housing, for all your help and kindness to my daughter.
Thank you to my family and friends for respecting my privacy during this tragedy.
If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to Aventa in honour of Colleen’s memory.
