Clark Officer, 89, passed away January 4, 2026 at Calgary, Alberta. Born in Lumsden, Saskatchewan, May 28, 1936, he was the son of Vernie and Irene Officer of Craven, Saskatchewan. He attended Scott Collegiate and the University of Saskatchewan in Regina, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology.
As a geologist, Clark worked for Canadian Stratigraphic Services (Canstrat) and BP Canada. While at Canstrat in 1974, he spent three months in Saudi Arabia with Aramco teaching employees the Canstrat Method of sample logging. His work and the friends he made there were some of his most rewarding experiences.
One of Clark's many interests was exotic birds and he owned many. He was also a member of the Southern Alberta Budgerigar and Caged Bird Society. He'll be remembered for his love of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Formula 1, all animals, travel, sports cars, skiing and as a youth, go carting.
He is survived by his sister, Margaret (Marnie) Paterson of Calgary, nephew, Gregg Paterson of Victoria, BC, niece, Janice McCorquindale (Kevin), great-nephews, James and Matthew, great-niece, Misty McCorquindale, and Kathy MacDonald all of Calgary.
While there will be no Funeral Service, a small reception at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services, 5502-2 St. SW will be held Friday, January 16 at 2-3pm to celebrate Clark's life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
