Clarence Patrick Hauck passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the age of 85 years in Calgary Rockyview Hospital. In his final weeks, he was surrounded by his loving family, at his side and from afar, and attended to by caring healthcare workers.
CP was born on June 4, 1936, to Clarence and Molly Hauck and grew up in Heisler, Alberta. After graduating school in Heisler, he attended St. Anthony College, in Edmonton, a boarding school run by the Franciscan Friars of Western Canada. After graduating CP enrolled in the CA Program at the University of Alberta where he was introduced to Horse Racing Business Administration, a career he pursued for the next 35 years, mostly in Windsor, Ontario, and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In retirement in Calgary, CP was active in the Catholic Church parishes they attended, serving on Committees and various ministries. Throughout his life, CP enjoyed all sports games and News Shows from around the world. His strength, generosity, and sense of humor will live with us always.
Clarence Patrick is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 50 years, Marilyn (nee May) originally from Heisler, Alberta; their son, Shawn Patrick, his wife, Robyn, and grandson Dexter Patrick, the Light of CP’s life. He also leaves his nieces & nephews and cousins in the East & Alberta & BC, he loved all of them very much.
