It is with the heaviest of hearts and the deepest sadness that the family of Chester Keys announce his passing on June 7, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by Dixie, his wife of 67 years; his children Colleen of Chapeau, QC, Loraine (Bob) Matsumoto of Lethbridge, AB, Bob (Eunice) of Calgary, and Kathy (Tom) Hampton of Calgary; as well as nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Chester was born October 21, 1931 in Regina, SK to Stuart and Mary Keys. The family moved to Drumheller in 1944 then on to Calgary in 1945 where they built their home in the community of Tuxedo, close in so Chester could attend Balmoral School. Chester worked as a lineman for Farm Electric and met Dixie in Morinville, AB in 1952. They were married April 10, 1953 and together raised their four children. Chester moved on to work for the City of Calgary Electric System (now Enmax) in 1953 retiring in late 1986 after 32 years.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a date post-COVID. If you wish to be advised of the date and time, please send an email to thampton@shaw.ca and you will be notified when arrangements have been made.
