Cec Dreger is survived by his loving wife, Susan Dreger (Airdrie), his daughter, Lori Bothwell (Calgary) and his son, Darren Dreger (Airdrie). He was the hero to four handsome grandsons who he loved like sons; Carson and Parker Bothwell, and Devon and Tyler Dreger. Cec recently traveled to his place of birth in Morden, Manitoba for his amazing mother Martha Hildebrand’s 98th Birthday celebration. While there he was able to reconnect with dozens of family members and friends. Cec made the adventurous trek to Calgary in the late 1960s, where he was roommates with his childhood friend Nick Hebert. Nick was his lifelong best friend and golf buddy to this day.
Shortly after Cec arrived in Calgary, he met a vivacious young woman named Susie Shegelski. They fell in love and married on November 7, 1970. They had two children early on and moved into their matrimonial home in SW Calgary in 1979. Cec started his own mobile auto glass business in the mid 1980s named Auto Mobile Glass. Together he and Susan ran their own business until 2012.
Cec retired and was finally able to enjoy the fruits of his labour, his 1964 Olds Cutlass 442 which he showed off with pride at many Calgary Car shows. Cec also loved to Golf and spent much time landscaping his SW Calgary property, which is the envy of the neighborhood still to this day. Cec was a prideful, hardworking family man who was loved by all he met. He will be deeply missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church (5504 20 St SW) on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. For those unable to attend, a live stream will be available through the link below.
