Catherine Jeanette was born and raised in Calgary, in the community of Valleyfield, by her parents Ernie and Mary Meierhofer. Her home was located near the Bow River and the irrigation canal whereas a young girl with her brothers and friends would raft and swim in the canal and explore the banks of the Bow. Mom had admitted that she was a bit of a Tom Boy and ran with the best of them. Growing up at home the family had a large garden and at some point, her father raised mink. She attended St. Anne’s school in the community of Ramsey where she befriended Mary Corbett the sister of here future late husband Michael Patrick (Pat) Corbett.
Catherine and Michael were married in 1955; and settled in the community Bowness in 1959 There they raised 4 Children, Bruce, Patrick Kim, Jamie, and daughter Jacquline. Catherine lived in this same house just three days shy of sixty-six years when she was transferred to Agape Hospice.
Catherine enjoyed curling, playing, and watching, outdoor adventures, camping and exploring, volunteering in the community and her church at Our Lady of Assumption where she made many lifetime friends and acquaintances.
Catherine joins her parents Ernie Sr. and Mary, siblings Ben (Betty), Ernest (Phyllis), Albert, wee Ida. Grandson Adam in eternal rest.
She is fondly remembered by her children Bruce (Julie), Patrick Kim (Kathy) Jamie, and Jacqueline; grandchildren Cameron, Justin, Lisa, Jesse (Jessica), Micky, Jenny, Ryan (Carmella) Ronnie (Amanda) and Brittany (Jordan); great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Ekko, Alena, Alex, Arya, Raeghan (Ethan) Holly, Lucas, Bennet, Walter, Jackson, and Ava; sister-in-law Eileen, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
