It is with shattered hearts we announce the passing of our amazing son Carter. How blessed we were to have such a selfless, kind, thoughtful, polite, patient young man in our family. He brought us much laughter with his witty sense of humour, and his strength inspired all of us. Our sweet boy will be dearly missed. After years of courageously fighting a brain tumour, Carter passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and love.
Carter’s spirit will be surrounding his parents Ross and Leah, his older brother Colten and younger brother Nicholas. His grandparents Dr. Dean and Joan Sandham. Uncles and aunts Luke (Lesley) Sandham, Rebecca (Will) Humphrey, Sarah (Josh) Friesen, Sharon (Don) Beer. Cousins, Lauren and Greg Sandham, Sasha and Isabeau Friesen, Darren (Melissa) Beer, Stacy (Mark) Bannister, Dustin (Danica) Beer.
He will be walking hand in hand with his grandparents Blaine and Diane Stevenson.
We are very grateful to the Alberta Children’s Hospital, especially everyone at the Flames Rotary House and Homecare team, for all their kindness and support to honour Carter's wish to be surrounded by family.
An outdoor celebration of his life will take place, when covid restrictions allow. We would love to receive any written memories you could share with us.
If you wish to do so, you may make a charitable donation to the Helping Families Handle Cancer Foundation or the Noah Samuel Foundation.
