Carroll Halene Smith (nee Lavers) passed away peacefully at home with those who loved her on November 16, 2020, at the age of 80 years.
Carroll was born to Richard and Ada Lavers on September 25, 1940, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and spent her childhood with cherished brother Dickie on the family farm near Delia, Alberta. Carroll moved to Calgary with her family in 1957 and married J. Crawford Smith in 1962.
Carroll was a well-known realtor and keen decorator. She parlayed those talents into a successful antiques shop in Inglewood. In later years, Carroll devoted time to her family between her home in Calgary and “Nanny’s Cabin” in Windermere BC, which became the gathering place from which many great memories will be cherished.
A born fighter, Carroll fiercely battled, and finally succumbed to the ravages of COPD after years of struggle.
Carroll will be dearly missed and always remembered by her children, Breton Smith (Karen Perasalo) and Paige Crockett (Tom), her grandchildren, Claudia, Abbey, Kristen, and Leyton, and very special caregivers, Marilou, Melinda, Pet, Kara, and Emelyn.
Breathe deeply and rest peacefully dear Mom.
