Carolyn Bochulak Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful loving mother and grandmother, Carolyn Bochulak.  She passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at the age of 84 after several years of declining health.  Carolyn was predeceased by her mom Verna Kraft in 2000 and her husband Joseph Bochulak in 2002.  She will be sorrowfully missed by her family, friends and community.  Her children, Pamela (Andy) Madsen, Teresa (Bill) Marshall, Dean Bochulak (Beth Rutter); her grandchildren, Quinn Marshall (Marina DiMaio), Matthew Marshall (Taylor Adolphe), Calvin Bochulak (Danvy Tran), Charlotte Bochulak (Neal Dixon), Liza Bochulak.

Carolyn will also be remembered by her half-sister Cathy Brygs and her family. She will be deeply missed by her Silvera Community and close friends that she has been a part of for the last 10-15 years.

Carolyn was born in Three Hills, Alberta on August 23, 1941, to Verna & Norman Dau.  She moved around and completed her schooling in Conquest, Saskatchewan, then moved to Calgary, Alberta where she met and married Joe Bochulak where they lovingly raised three children.

Dad and Mom became founding members of the St. Stephen’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and mom proceeded to immerse herself into the Ukrainian community including singing in the choir and participating with the UCWL (Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League of Canada).

Mom loved her music, knitting, was an avid reader and liked to play games and do puzzles along with breakfast with family and friends.

In memory of Carolyn Bochulak, donations can be made to Canadian Lung Association.

The service will be held at St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4903 – 45 street S.W. on Friday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00am with Father Janko Herbut presiding.  The family invites everyone to join them for light snacks in the church hall following the service to share memories and stories of mom.
