Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Carole Dawn Jones, a much- loved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. Carole’s joy in life was spending time with her family. She and George planned their lives to remain close to their children and grandchildren. We will always remember that welcoming smile and big hug we received whenever we arrived.

Carole raised four children while utilizing her creative abilities to start a wallpapering business. In the 1980’s she began working at Nova Gas Transmission (now TC Energy)and remained there until she retired. Carole was known for her talent in sewing, quilting, and needlework. She always had a project on the go. She liked to curl and was a former President of the Balmoral Ladies Curling League in Edmonton. A member of the Moravian Church, she enjoyed singing in their choir. Carole and George loved to camp and travel with family and friends.

They made numerous friends at their homes in Edmonton, Kapasiwin Village, and Florence, Arizona. Carole will be remembered as a kind, competitive, and creative grandmother, who was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and husband.

Carole will be missed by her children, Robert (Rhonda), David (Brenda), Stacey (Dan), and Brian; her grandchildren Brianne (Riley), Davis (Carly), Alyssa (Mike), Neil (Kara), Taylor (Caroline), Kyra (Shane), Christopher (Emily), Keith (Lindsey), Russell (Tori), and Rio (Chad). She is also survived by her step-brother Don MacPherson, her brother-in-law Ken Jones. Carole was predeceased by her husband George of 58 years, her mother and step father Ruby and Norman MacPherson, her brother Bill Matthew and step brother Don MacPherson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date (July 2021) when we can all safely gather to celebrate her life. RSVP below for service details.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly in Carole’s name to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation (www.albertadiabetesfoundation.com) or the Alzheimer Society of Alberta (www.alzheimer.ca).
