Brian James Cook slipped away in his sleep at Carewest Garrison Green in Calgary on January 16, 2020 at the age of 63. Brian leaves behind Loretta, his wife of 40 years and son, Logan as well as his favourite cat Sylvester, and Ava the Sheltie dog. He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Josephine Cook; and is survived by sister Lorna Gawlinski of Edmonton and brother Garry (Cathy) of Calgary.
Brian was not a man of many words, but when he cleared his throat, you knew he had something to say. His dry sense of humour surprised many.
Brian worked for Macdonalds Consolidated (Canada Safeway) for 19 years until an injury at work prevented his return. Afterward, he studied massage therapy, however, his health kept setting him back and he was not able to move forward with rebuilding his career.
Brian enjoyed art, acrylic painting, camping, driving to the States along the Oregon and California coastline each summer, as well as short trips to Great Falls, Kalispell, and Spokane. The Shelties always came along for those trips.
At his request, Brian was cremated and there was no funeral. His ashes will be scattered at places he enjoyed visiting.
