Beverley Ostrosser Obituary

Beverley Jean Ostrosser, née Cousins, died peacefully in her sleep in the wee hours of July 4, 2020. Proudly born and raised in Calgary, our Mom, Grandy, Aunt and friend was a month shy of what would have been her 90th birthday.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Richard H. Ostrosser who died in 1995. She is survived by her loving children Lesley (John Thompson), Dwight (Monique Johnson), grand-children Freddy and Josée , Dayton (Cattleya) grand-children Kiara, Caelan and Rianna.

Beverley had a great sense of humour, often embracing the irreverent. Her greatest loves besides her family were sharing laughter with her friends, listening to Frank Sinatra, spending summers at the cabin at Tie Lake and traveling with Dad. She had a life-long love of children, all dogs and nature in general. Our memories abound with chaotic family dinners, hot afternoons on the dock and evenings spent with her stalwart best friends of 80 plus years who were all Aunts to us. We can still hear the echo of her infectious laugh at the ridiculous pranks the siblings would pull, usually at one another’s expense.

Beverly’s greatest joy always stemmed from being wrapped in the warm blanket of family and friends. In her later years she lived her life with dignity and grace. She enjoyed the meticulous and selfless care provided by the dedicated professional staff of the McKenzie Towne Retirement Residence. Mom loved you all and we owe you a great debt of gratitude. Beverley was a very gregarious person and thrived under the warm personal attention of her Home Instead caregivers, Cindy, Sasha and most especially Shawna. They shared many conversations and outings that kept Mom engaged and happy.  The Ostrosser family offers our heartfelt love to all of you who added so much light to Mom’s life in these recent years.

We feel much peace now knowing that Mom is with her family and friends and four-legged furry pals who caught that earlier train. Best Mom ever! Rest in peace Mom-you will forever live in our hearts.
