Barbara Jean Hart

Barbara Hart passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the age of 78 years old in Calgary after a long illness with her husband Bill at her side. She is survived by her children, Lori Hart, Dawn Bury (Geoff), and Michael Hart (Elizabeth Stockwell); and her grandchildren, Michael Bury, Cameron Bury, Jordan Bury, Rachel Hart, and Henry Hart.

Barbara lived a rich and full life as a mother and wife. Her career began as a social worker in Saskatoon, but her most rewarding work was as an elementary school secretary with the Edmonton Catholic Schools. For many years she was deeply involved with the Gateway Association for Community Living. She and Bill saw as much of the world as she could in retirement and would have seen more if her health had allowed it.

Barbara’s family expresses deep gratitude to the many physicians, nurses, and volunteers in Edmonton and Calgary who cared for her throughout her illness, and to the staff and volunteers at the Salvation Army Agapé Hospice for their care and kindness during Barbara’s last days. There will be a private family funeral service.
